Presentation
Dorothée Adam established the first contacts with the association Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) during a mission in Cambodia, in 2005. In France, the Association des Enfants de la Goutte d’Or (EGDO) was identified with the assistance of the NGO Chemins d’Enfances. The preparation before the launching of the correspondance between these two associations lasted for 7 months.
At the end of 2012, AN EYE FOR AN EYE conducted two identical workshops in France, then in Cambodia. In each country, the AEFAE’s educational coordinator trained a local coordinator and a facilitator and initiated the group of children to photography as a mean of communication. The photos taken, selected and captioned by the children during the workshops were displayed in an exhibition in each country.
Since November 2012, the French and Cambodian children continue to recount their daily lives to each other by sharing 8 photos each month. They choose themselves the subjects of the exchange. In addition to the events that punctuate the life of each group (local celebrations, exams, etc.), visits are organized regularly and nurture the exchanges (exhibitions, visits to heritage sites, etc.).
In October 2014, the association Le Petit Maroc (Lille, France) joined the correspondance. A photo workshop took place in October 2014.
In 2015, the community centre Aires 10 (Paris 75010) joins the correspondence and, in 2016, seven new children of the NGO Pour un sourire d’enfant attend their first photo workshop.

Olivier Touron (France)
For nearly 15 years, Régis Binard has been working as a professional photographer, mainly for the press, for private companies and NGOs. He appreciates proximity with the people that the photography offers. After he had traveled through the world for two years, from the Central Asia’s steppe to the islands of Oceania, in the context of an exchange project about water between French schools and NGOs, he now carries on his activity between France and Cambodia.
As the ambassador photographer of the AN EYE FOR AN EYE’s group in Phnom Penh, he regularly participates in the weekly workshops, helping the children in the shooting and the analysis of their pictures.
